Private physiotherapy treatment room in Rainham
The starting point

Where private physiotherapy fits alongside the NHS

Medway is reasonably well served on paper. There is an NHS musculoskeletal service you can self refer into, a hospital service at Medway Maritime, and several private providers across Rochester, Chatham and Gillingham.

What varies enormously is time. NHS waits for routine musculoskeletal appointments frequently run into months, and once seen, slots are necessarily short. A good deal of private provision is delivered in fifteen or twenty minute blocks on a shared gym floor.

BetterMe exists in that gap. Longer appointments, entirely one to one, with a physiotherapist holding MACP accreditation which just over 1,200 practitioners nationally have achieved.

Areas we cover

The clinic sits in Rainham, a short run off the A2 and easily reached from anywhere in Medway.

01

Rainham and Gillingham

Minutes from the clinic, with dedicated parking directly outside so there is no hunting for a space.

02

Chatham and Walderslade

A straightforward ten to fifteen minutes via the A2, with evening appointments until 9pm.

03

Rochester and Strood

Around twenty minutes, and considerably easier than crossing into Maidstone for private care.

04

Hoo, Cuxton and the villages

The A228 and A2 make the peninsula and surrounding villages a manageable journey.

Common questions

Is it worth travelling from Chatham or Rochester?
That is your call, but most people who do say the same thing: the appointment is long enough to get somewhere, and they see the same physiotherapist each time. It is roughly fifteen to twenty minutes from Chatham, Rochester and Strood, with parking directly outside rather than a town centre car park.
Do you cover all of Medway?
Yes. The clinic is in Rainham and patients travel in from Gillingham, Chatham, Rochester, Strood, Hempstead, Walderslade and the surrounding villages.
How quickly can I be seen?
Usually within a few days. We hold appointments until 9pm Monday to Friday plus Saturday and Sunday.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can self refer and book directly online or by phone.
Is there parking?
Yes, dedicated parking directly outside the clinic. It sounds minor until you are travelling in with acute back pain and the alternative is a town centre car park and a walk.
Do you take insurance?
Yes, we work with all the major providers including Bupa, AXA and Aviva.
